Well it seems Spring likes to arrive earlier, and earlier each year! Just yesterday I spotted zucchinis growing already, soon we will be drowning in them! Walking around the farm, and checking the fruit trees, it is very evident we have had great pollination take place as all varieties of apples, pears and plums are loaded. We anticipate to have a big crop of everything if Mother Nature continues to hold up her end of the bargain. Keep in mind we will be running ahead of the usual fruit ripeness schedule again this year (we anticipate by at least 3 weeks early) so please get your orders in quickly if you want to guarantee the quantity you require. This year we will take pre-orders for all products, with the exception of: Sour Cherries, Gravenstein Apples and our Italian Prune Plums.
With the arrival of Spring, there has been a lot of changes happening around the farm.
We have demolished the old empty house on the farm, and it has made a nice area for a tiny home to sit. We will post more on this tiny home soon and introduce you to its occupants, once it has moved in and set up in the next few weeks.
This year we will have more variety and larger quantities of vegetables available for sale including several varieties of squash, zucchinis, cucumbers, garlic, carrots, tomatoes, beets, potatoes and beans. As always we will have our apples, pears and free range roasting chickens available. Also new this year will be Dhalia flower bouquets, and Garside’s own preserves.
You can now follow Garside’s Farm on Instagram, we post loads of photos and information everyday.
