Well here we are at June 12th, and it feels more like April 12th to me!  The forecast also looks a bit dreary for the week, I know the Farmers Almanac said it was going to be a bit cooler and damp Summer, but this is starting to feel a bit much.

Currently we are busy around the farm mowing, fixing our greenhouse that was ruined in a wind/snowstorm, tending to our seedlings, and planting our garden vegetables.  Plus anxiously watching the trees in the orchard to see how well pollination went in the Spring.  From our wanders it looks like pollination was pretty good on all varieties of fruit, although it certainly won’t be a bumper crop like last year with that amazing Spring.  In fact looking at our records from last year, we were already picking our Sour Cherries at this time, Wow!  We are anticipating this to be a more average year for harvests times, than the past few Summers.

Our first products that will be available will be our Montmorency Sour Cherries, followed by our Dolgo Crab Apples.  It is amazing the amount of different products you can make with these two tart fruits, each year I learn about a new way to bake, cook or even make cocktails, beers and wine with them.  They are incredibly versatile fruits!  Following these items being ready we should have some Prima, Gravenstein and Bramley Apples start to come available, plus our Russian Red Garlic and a variety of other vegetables and beautiful Dahlia bouquets.

At this time we are currently only open by appointment until Early Summer (anticipating Early July) when we have some products available, you can make an appointment for any day of the week by contacting us by phone, email or Facebook.   If you have questions, or would like to place an order for anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We will send out a newsletter with our opening date hopefully soon.

Currently at our farm market we only have our frozen Free Range Roasting Chickens available. These chickens are fed a top quality locally produced grain, and are given no hormones or antibiotics.  Our chickens are also allowed access to graze outdoors.  They are then professionally processed at Farm Fed Processors and flash frozen.

Also available at our Farm Stand is a selection of preserves all made with our own Organically grown products.  Currently available is our Peppery Pear Salsa, Sour Cherry Jelly, Apple Earl Grey Almond Jelly, Strawberry Vanilla Jam, Crab Apple Jelly, and a Spicy Apple Chutney and a Curried Apple Chutney.  Gift packs and baskets are available upon request.  With local strawberries being ripe now, its time to start fresh batches of our popular Strawberry Vanilla Jam, look for photos later this week on our Instagram and Facebook!
